A Blessing of the Animals will be held at Broad Brook Congregational Church on Sunday, Oct.18th at 2 pm.
There will be treats for the animals. Dogs must be leashed. Cats must either leased, in carriers, or held securely in their human arms. Any pet is welcome: birds, hamsters, turtles, whatever creature you hold dear. For those who do not have a living pet but cherish a stuffed animal, blessings will also be given to them.
This is in honor Of Francis of Assisi who today is a patron saint for ecologists – a title honoring his love for animals and nature. He was canonized as a saint by Pope Gregory IX in 1228.
